Water Walkers was started in January 2006 as a ministry to special needs individuals who did not feel welcomed or ministered to in other church settings.

We have purchased wheelchair ramps and signs for easier access by mobility-challenged individuals. There are a few individuals in the church who are in the process of learning ASL for those whose primary language is signing.

In August we will be starting our own ministry at the Villages of Richardson nursing home on the 1st Thursday of the month. Also in August we will be training all teachers in how to teach and discipline special needs children. In the future we will be incorporating a parents night out ministry for parents with special needs children. In the future we will be investigating a closed-captioning system for the service and Braille for those who are visually impaired.
